NPK fertilizers provide the one or more of the three primary nutrients, often along with micro nutrients for improved effects. Primary nutrients are Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K). Soils often lack these nutrients because of environmental factors or intensive cultivation. Plants require adequate amounts of various nutrients to achieve their full potential but these primary nutrients are essential for growth and health and they are required in large amounts.
